HELlo!

Elizabeth Wilhide once said, “pattern is where colour and texture meet and make music”. As a kid at heart who uses textiles and prints to tell my stories, I let my imagination run wild on the daily, allowing me to infuse spirit and personality into everything I create.

I received my BFA in Apparel Design at the Art Institute of Portland in 2013. Shortly after graduation, I began designing for Sock It to Me, a novelty sock company that believes in the power of self-expression. Throughout my 7 years in a design focused role, I honed my illustration skills and learned how to develop socks that sold successfully around the globe.

Currently, I’m working as a Textile Designer Manager at Destira, a company that produces US made Gymnastic wear for young female athletes. My position focuses on designing custom team & group apparel prints, as well as in-house styles starting from concept to final production.

I’d like to make my skills and imagination available to those who are looking for meaningful design work, so feel free to drop me a line and let’s make cool stuff together!

Fun facts: I have a twin sister / Mushroom foraging is my favorite fall activity / I can do the worm / My family and good friends call me Al / I love a good vintage mug / I’m currently learning how to play the banjo.
